New Parent Information

Dear Parents

Welcome to the Willamette Valley Down Syndrome Association and congratulations to you on the birth of your baby. We know that this time must be filled with mixed emotions and we hope that the material contained in our New Parent Packet will answer some of your questions about your new baby and about Down syndrome.

We also would like to suggest that in reading about Down syndrome, you take your time and digest only that information which is helpful to you. It is not our intention to depress you, frighten you or to overwhelm you with the materials in this packet. You have more time than you might think to learn about the many challenges and blessings that lay ahead of you.

Please remember that your baby is a baby first and a baby with Down syndrome second. We are always here to serve you and give you support in any way possible. Feel free to call us for more information... or to just to talk to someone who understands some of the things you’re feeling right now.

Sincerely,

The parents of the W.V.D.S.A.
